St Patrick’s Day – Irish Rock Bands

Leprechaun Saturday was St Patrick’s Day, and by chance we were having a few friends over for a braai! Now while I am not Irish, and I am not a fan of the man who chased the druids out of Ireland, Lois and I thought we would have a little bit of fun, and see if we can get away with only playing music from Irish bands. Before long, we had a playlist of over 8 hours long from our MP3 collection.

Unless I am mistaken, all of the below bands are Irish, or have at least one member from Ireland.

  • The Corrs
  • U2
  • B*Witched
  • Sinéad O’Connor
  • Snow Patrol
  • The Cranberries
  • Sixpence None the Richer
  • The Waterboys
  • Clanned
  • Enya

Who should we have added to the list?

Nice lineup! Some more for next year (some from memory, some from Wikipedia…)

    Van Morrison
    Simple Minds
    Bob Geldof
Hothouse Flowers (I Can See Clearly Now)
Thin Lizzy (The Boys Are Back in Town)
    Boyzone (aargh!)
    Foster and Allen

    Cheers :)
