Happy New Year

Happy New year everybody. I hope that this year brings your wishes, dreams and hopes come true this year, and I hope that I get back on my feet soonest!
We had as very quite new years party last night – our neighbours Eric and Anja made a braai at their house, and then brought it across to eat at our house when it was ready – my first "take out braai". It was the first new year in ages that I have not seen the new year in, but at least I don’t have a hangover!
I am still stuck in bed after my unexpected back operation, but I am getting more mobile every day. The healing process is a long process, so patience is a virtue that I am rapidly learning. However, I am getting stronger every day.
On the bright side, I am “literally” learning to put my feet up and take some time out. I have taken the opportunity to catch up on my reading, and I have read about five books over the last two weeks, and I have many more lined up!
(Recently, I bought a Sony Book Reader on EBay, which is basically a small computer with a very high-quality screen specifically designed to read books on, and it arrived the day before my op – it has been a blessing – I have over 60 books on it at the moment, and I am using it every Day. I will write a more detailed review in the next few days.)
