Get fit – 10 reasons to go walking…
So, I have been walking 2-3km most days for the last couple of weeks. It is really helping my back to recover. But I think that you should all follow my example and go walking. Here’s why:
- Loose weight
- Get Fit
- Reduce cholesterol
- Meet your neighbours
- See the world from a different perspective
- Enjoy the fresh air
- Reduce pollution (esp if you combine the walk with an errand)
- Time out from your busy life
- Inexpensive
- It’s Fun!
I don’t want to bring race into this BUT…
Why is it that I am hearing that statement so often? So, what exactly are you doing then? Are you bringing race into it, or aren’t you?
Because if you are, you had better have a damn good reason to do so…
Come on guys – if you need to make a point, do it with a logical, structured and correct argument. Don’t just pull the "I don’t want to bring race into this but…" card – it doesn’t work!
The Beatles, Britney Spears and Led Zeppelin
You know, I never thought that I would ever mention Britney Spears in a post, but I certainly never thought that I would mention her, the Beatles and Led Zeppelin in a single post!
Well, it appears that yesterday I did…and just to freak you out, I have just mentioned Paris Hilton.

It was 44 years ago today…!
Yes, on Friday 7 Feb 1964, the Beatles touched down at JF Kennedy airport, New York! This was the beginning of their first USA tour, a tour which took the USA by storm. After this tour, the Beatles had firmly broken into the USA market.
Can you believe it, 44 years ago! In fact, it was over 40 years ago when Sgt Pepper taught the band to play. I wonder how many of our current bands will still be remembered in 40 or 50 years time – not many I suspect. I can just see Britney Spears “Oops I did it again” being remembered in 40 years – naa, I think not.
Or how abour "ohh ohh ohh, I want your ahh ahh ahh"? Ok, so I made that one up, but you get the picture.
I am pretty sure that in 40 years time, people will still be singing "there’s a lady who’s sure/all that glitters is gold…"
I think that I will hang onto my CD’s for a while!
