Magic Tree at Kirstenbosch

Share

A few years ago, a Yellow wood tree in Kirstenbosch Gardens split in half during a storm. The team at Kirstenbosch simply filled the gap with soil, left the tree and hoped for the best. If you look at the picture below, you can clearly see the split in the middle.

The amazing thing is that the tree just continued to grow, and is quite happy and healthy. Amazing what nature can do, isn’t it.

So, now the tree is known as the Magic Tree, because to survive what it went through must have been magic!
