Day 151: Khayelitsha
When visiting wonderful South Africa, or watching the spectacular scenery during the soccer world cup, please do not forget that there are many people in South Africa that live in very poor circumstances.
The people in this picture live in shacks made from discarded pieces of corrugated iron and wood. They don’t have heaters; when it rains, it simply falls through the gaps in the roof. When the wind blows, it blows straight through their houses.
We are moving forward in little steps, and it will be wonderful when we have no more shacks, and everybody can live in safe houses.
