Happy Birthday, John

Happy Birthday, John we miss you.

Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Strange Artistic Zebra

I saw this girl grazing on the pavement in Clearmont. According to her caption, she is part of an organisation called World for all.

There is also a quote from Nelson Mandela which says

colour, race and gender become only a God-given gift to each one of us and not an…attribute that accords a special status to any

According to their website,

we should highlight South Africa’s contribution to a world beset by challenges. South Africa stands out as an example of doing what is counter-intuitive: forging unity out of apartheid, negotiating a settlement after years of violence, and reconciling those who have been perpetrators and victims of brutality.”

Anything that helps our world to move forward to a better place gets my vote.

Go Bafana Bafana!

There are less than 5 hours until the kickoff, and South Africa has gone completely crazy. Everybody is hooting, blowing their vuvuzelas, wearing the yellow and green of our national side Bafana Bafana, all getting ready to support our team in the opening match.

The traders on the street are doing a roaring trade, with lines of cars stopping on the side of the road, hoping to still buy a flag or supporters shirt.

We are going to have a great game, and we are going to show that Africa can put on a great show!

Go South Africa!

Go South Africa!

Kylie Hattonm the City of Cape Town media manager was the guest speaker at our recent Toastmasters contest. She spoke about the "good, bad and ugly" of 2010 for Cape Town. It was a very informative and entertaining presentation.
