Lizard on a warm summer night
A Squirrel eating at the Company Gardens in Cape Town. If you visit in the
evening, you can see lots of them eating nuts and left over debris from the
picnics in the gardens.
A bird sitting (ok standing) on her eggs. She had laid the eggs on some grass in the middle of a parking lot, so I hope that they survive.
On Sunday I posted a picture of a lovely summers day, and just two days later, we are having some rather unexpected rain in Cape Town. This Cape Honeysuckle in my garden seems to be enjoying the rain.
A spiders web, sparkling early in the morning in front of a stream. Do you
know how hard it is to get a camera to focus on a spiders web?
Last night was the very very hot and still weather that you get just
before a thunderstorm, and I saw something that I have never seen
before, two dragonfly’s hanging from my bedroom light, so here is a
pic of one of them. It was a difficult picture to take because the
light was on, and I could not pull the cord without scaring the little
guy off.
So after a little experimentation, here is what I managed to do.
The feather of an Egyptian Goose, found while walking my dogs after some
light rain. I love the way the drops of water magnify the grain of the
feather.
With the wet spring and hot summer, my chilli plants have gone crazy. I have got literally hundreds of them on my trees at the moment. I doubt that I will manage to eat them all, but they do really look lovely.
Perhaps I should start to pickle some of them.
"way off alone, out by himself beyond boat and shore, Jonathan
Livingston Seagull was practicing. A hundred feet in the sky he
lowered his webbed feet, lifted his beak, and strained to hold a
painful hard twisting curve through his wings." – Richard Bach.

Day 34: Strutting her stuff, originally uploaded by Craig Strachan.
A bird walking around the parking lot at work. I loved the way that she (or possibly he) seems to be taking such huge steps. It reminds me of a model on a ramp. I only had my little point and click with me, but it seemed to have come
out ok.
