While I was shooting at the classic car expo, I came across a stall selling old workshop tools. The seller wanted to know why I was taking pictures of “my junk”. Well, old tools have history. They tell a story, and they leave questions behind. Who owned these tools, what were they used for, how did they end up here, what was fixed or made using these tools?

Signboard outside Forries

On the 1 Jan 2011, Cape Town moved a little closer to being in a “nanny state”. The new  drinking laws have put even tighter restrictions on when restaurants and pubs can serve alcohol.

If the local government really think that it is going to make any difference to alcohols consumption, they clearly have been consuming too much alcohol themselves. This is just 5 years after the UK have relaxed drinking laws.

I wonder how much binge drinking will happen just before 11pm?

The table has been set, the food is cooking, and the family will be arriving in just a couple of hours for a Christmas-Eve dinner. I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas filled with friendship, love and happiness. When you pull your Christmas crackers, I hope they bring wonderful memories for the future.

A chocolate skull found in a remarkable shop in the lanes in Brighton. They specialise in morbid and gothic chocolates and cakes.

It is rather bizarre, but the artwork is absolutely amazing. I forget the exact figues, but the cake costs something like 200 pounds, but it feeds about 100 people.

The shop is called choccywoccydoodah, and their website is www.choccywoccydoodah.com.

I think that their other shops do regular chocolates, but not this branch.
