A whale of a time
On Sunday, we celebrated my mother-in-laws birthday by having lunch at her house. She live in St James, and her deck has a wonderful view of False Bay. Everybody came to the birthday party, even a mother and baby whale made an appearance. This shot of the mom and baby whale playing was taken from the deck (with my point and shoot, so this is as close as I could get).

Happy Birthday Les Paul
One of my regrets is not going to see Les Paul playing in New York. Now it is too late (he would have been 96 today). Not only did Les Paul pioneer multi-track recording which is fundamental to any recording studio in the world, he invented the solid-body electric guitar. The Gibson Les Paul electric guitar is probably the most famous guitar in the world.

It’s Christmas Time
We had dinner at Cavendish Square this evening for my Dad’s birthday. I should not have been surprised to notice that the Christmas Decorations are out in full force. I suppose that considering that is less than a month to go until Christmas it should have been expected.
Cavendish Square are being rather tasteful this year with their decorations; the center is fulled with subdues fairy lights, twinkling against delicate silver decorations. It is a wonderful change from the garish Christmas trees and over sided plastic reindeer. I hope that I am not surrounded by too many Boney M Christmas Carols.
I would rather hear the Psycho Reptiles – Psycho Christmas song, or some good rock versions of Christmas Songs.
