Lavender fields in Franschhoek

Franschhoek is really become a “little France” with these lovely Lavender fields on the side of the road.

It is just like being back in Provence.

Franschhoek Motor Museum

I spent Saturday morning at Franschhoek Motor Museum. This amazing place has a collection of over 200 cars, ranging from the 1800′s right up to some of the fastest cars in the world. They have over 200 cards, but only 80 are in display at any time.

This was a perfect opportunity to take some photos (esp HDR photos), so here are the first few.

In my excitement I did not keep note of what cars they are, so you will just have to enjoy the pics without explanation.

Red convertible.

Day 175: Snow in Franschoek

It almost never snows in Cape Town, and when it does the snow usually melts in a few hours. However, for the last few days it has been freezing cold, and very clear days

Here is a shot of the show on the top of the mountains above Franshoek, just outside of Cape Town. It has monthly melted already, but for Cape Town it is still quite thick.

I just managed to catch it on a flight to Johannesburg, lucky I had my camera bag on the floor in front of me.
