Paragliding in Cape Town
I saw these guys paragliding yesterday just off Baden Powell Drive. It was fascinating to watch them launching themselves off a very low cliff just above the beach. The thermals must have been very strong, because as they jumped, they almost shop up vertically into the air.
It looked so graceful and peaceful, a wonderful way to spend a still day in Cape Town.

A 3 second exposure of Muizenberg beach just before sunset. This was my first experiment with a long exposure of the sea; but I think that it came out ok.
Here is another slow-release shot in Muizenberg; you can just make out the village on the left. I live the fantasy-like almost magical effect this type of picture gives.

Day 178: Newlands Forest

Day 178: Newlands Forest, originally uploaded by Craig is shooting.
Newlands forest is still one of those special places. In about 5 minutes you can go from speeding down the highway, to walking along this quiet forest path on the side of Table Mountain. Truly a special place.

Looking at Cape Town through the trees of Newlands Forest. In the distance you can just make out the water of False Bay.

Just a small, bright and blue flower to brighten up any day.

A path in Newlands Forest. I am not quite sure why I took this pictures, but I kind of like it.

The canopy of some of the enormous trees in Newlands forest. It gives a real sense of vertigo looking up at the trees.
