We found this old Roman footbridge on one of our many side-journeys while driving around the Peloponnese in Greece. It’s called the Arkadiko Bridge, and was built in Mycenaean times, approx 1300 BC. That’s over 3300 years ago, and it’s still standing (there are 4 such-brides in the Peloponnese. It is also one of the oldest arch bridges in the world, and is still in use! I wonder if the bridge-builders though that over 3000 years layer there would still be traffic over it.

Sometimes its good to get a little lost. That happened to us after we had visited the Corinth Canal footbridge in Greece. We were driving down a small rural road, and I saw this old car parked in a field. I’m sure by its condition that it had been parked for a very long time.
It’s an American truck, sitting in a field in a Greek farm, I really wonder just how it got there.
I saw this wonderfu old cart on our recent travels to Krakow, Poland. It was just outside the hotel, but I love the old-world feel to it. I very much doubt that is has moved in years and it is unlikely to move again. But it looks lovely.
A lovely old bicycle that I saw the other day. I doubt that it is going to go anywhere soon, but I wonder where it has been?
While I was shooting at the classic car expo, I came across a stall selling old workshop tools. The seller wanted to know why I was taking pictures of “my junk”. Well, old tools have history. They tell a story, and they leave questions behind. Who owned these tools, what were they used for, how did they end up here, what was fixed or made using these tools?
Junk? I don’t think so.
I love this old car that I spotted, and the best part is that it is in fully working order, well at least it is running.
