An early spring?

One of my desert plans has burst into bloom. Although the shortest day this year was just a few days ago, it is a little early for spring flowers. Winter is far from over, but I shall enjoy the brief respite and dash of colour in my garden before the rain and cold come back for another month.

What a beautiful hint of spring for you! It is a miracle that desert plants bloom at all, isn’t it! I saw a show about the Kalahari blooming after the rains and it was absolutely stunning. I love how your flower is so bright yellow and the background is a lovely, lush green. So pretty!

Thank you Rachel , yes it is isn’t it. I watched a tv show about the huge saguaro plants in Arizona, and I believe that when it rains, they soak up to a ton of water.

The desert plants are amazing. The only reason that I have this plant is because I have a dry patch of ground where nothing else grows.

But Craig, there are plenty succulents flowering in winter…? and I think today is winter solstice with the shortest day etc and now we can anticipate longer sunlight by a minute a day, lol better than nothing…
